The AYSO High School Summer League is a developmental program for incoming 9th to 12th graders. (Not open to those players who have already graduated or who will be graduating this current academic year) It is an opportunity for players who are considering playing high school soccer to get a feel of that level of play, and it is an opportunity for the coaches to see the player's ability. Participation in the high school summer league does not guarantee placement on your high school team!
Since it is a developmental program run by AYSO, rules are modified to ensure playing time and player safety. As all referees are unpaid volunteers, it is also a good time for referees to develop their refereeing skills with older kids.
The season normally runs from June through July with a break to accommodate the AYSO Rainbow Tournament. Registration is planned to begin in late February to early March. As some high schools may not be fielding teams, please contact your high school for further information. Players will register through the AYSO Region where their high school is located.
Current Membership Year AYSO Registered players pay a reduced amount since they have already paid fees for the membership year. Summer League fees vary each year - On Oahu, AYSO registered players usually pay around $20, and non-AYSO registered players pay around $40. A numbered T-shirt jersey is included as part of the league fee.
